Why use this tuning
Use a suitable string gauge and check setup before keeping a guitar in Drop C permanently. It is common in modern metal, metalcore and heavy rock.
Retune safely
Change one string at a time, approach the target pitch gradually and recheck every string after the neck settles. Large tuning changes may require a different string gauge and a professional setup.
